Day Four

The convoy is evaluating the weather on whether to to stop for at least a day here in Tucson to do some check flights with the FAA. There were a lot of thermals today, so if there is no wind tomorrow, then the team will probably stay in Tucson and get the remaining paperwork stuff done. If there are winds, then they'll pack up and head onwards while the weather is good and then we'll have to work with the FAA at Palm Springs! There's no such thing as a defined schedule with an airship...

Is there a reason this needed to be done in Tucson or was this just a convenient place to do it. I wouldn't imagine that the FAA has a whole lot of pilots with Zeppelin experience.

It's convenient to do it here, or at Goodyear Field in Phoenix. The weather is much better than other places (Like Beaumont!)

Lol, your edit took out all the stuff about everyone from the FAA being nice people.

Hi, Alex,
We weren't able to get out to Marana today. If you're leaving tomorrow (Thursday), do you know when that will happen? Maybe we can at least wave Bon Voyage and give you a hearty "Luftschiff Hoch!"
