Fifteen - Love
Today, and this weekend, we're flying above the Farmers Classic, carrying a camera to provide aerial coverage. If you're in LA, watch out for us over UCLA, and if you're watching on TV, see if you can spot the footage coming from the airship.

More Whales
On display.
If you happen to be passing through Long Beach airport, see if you can spot the Zeppelin - not Eureka on the field, but a model of her in a new display at the airport.
A local Eagle Scout has done a fun project detailing the various historic planes that have flown from Daugherty Field (LGB) and the Zeppelin is now among them!

Maintenance in the field
We are often asked how we can operate without a hangar nearby. When we describe how we can do our maintenance and inspections by using these platforms that winch up to the engines and allow the mechanic to move around with the airship on the mast, we often get rather incredulous stares!
Last night, the 100hr inspection was done on our rear engine in exactly this way, so here are a few pictures of mechanic, Will, finishing up with the sunset while on the field at Long Beach. I've included a full ship shot to give you some scale.

Sacramento Day Trip this Saturday
Do you happen to be in Sacramento this Saturday? If so you'll see us operating from McClellan, giving flightseeing tours of Downtown and Greater Sacramento.
Most flights are entirely sold out (thanks Sacramento!), but we have a handful of spaces left in the early afternoon.
And for those seeking an experience a bit more exotic, where you get more of a "behind the scenes" look at the operation, consider taking Eureka either to or from Sacramento! The Northbound transit runs from Oakland to Sacramento Friday afternoon, and the return transit from Sacramento back down to Moffett Field takes place Saturday afternoon. In either case, you'll not only get to see both Sacramento and Silicon Valley, but enjoy the sights between.
See you Saturday!
Whale of a Time
Eureka transited from LA yesterday with a sold out passenger complement, and what an amazing time they had! Oliver, our on-loan pilot from Zeppelin, took these two photos from the airship - a pod of Orcas and a Blue Whale.
While we can never guarantee what you'll see on a transit flight, if you don't fly, we can guarantee that you won't see these kinds of sights!

Fly 2K (hours that is)
Today we passed the 2000 flight hour mark.
Matthew sent along this picture of tech log entry 291: AV flight number 334, Moffett Field (KNUQ) to Long Beach (KLGB) airtime 6:50.
This puts us at just over 2000 flight hours, and 1712 landings.
