Set up

We're delighted to have found some new flight operations personnel in
the LA area so that we have a local crew. Today is the first on duty
day for some of the new crew! Good Luck guys!

Da Vinci Operations!

At Long Beach starting operations from Da Vincis Ristorante at the
airfield. Wonderful hospitality and views of Eureka taking off and
landing, not to mention good food!! Come and watch, even if you aren't
flying with us.

Never Before Coffee

Last night, during some late-night tinkering with our tracking code, I fell asleep on the keyboard. The result? Some very odd dreams, to be sure, but what else? An overnight space, time and mind-bending Zeppelin flight TO our current position from Germany, ostensibly, according to our tracking page!

Biplane Escorts in San Diego

Don Kohlbauer sends us these pictures of the USS Shenandoah moored in San Diego in October 1924:

And the "biplane escort" he received on his flight in April 2010.

We're looking forward to our next trip back, scheduled for May 28-29, 2010.

Thanks Don!

The Sacramento river meets the American river.

Good Day Sacramento

Getting an early start with morning TV.

Folsom Lake

Having fun in the Sacramento environs!

Blurry but interesting!

Quick swing by downtown on our way to McClellan.

Moo

Cows on the islands in the delta.

Naval mothball fleet. This is amazingly cool to fly over.

Passing Oakland

I always think that the Port looks like Lego bricks from the air!

Sacramento here we come

Prepping for a 11:15 departure. We're headed for McClellan just outside of downtown Sacramento for a 2 day 1 night visit to the capital. We'redoing press flights today and passenger operations tomorrow.

Rocketship Ventures?

There was a fairly long line to wait your turn to climb aboard this towering rocket ship.

Zeppelin Art Car

A Zeppelin art car at Yuri's Night Bay Area.

The car was built and displayed by brothers Joe and (our own) Brian Metzler, originally shown in 2006 at Burning Man.

First iPad in a Zeppelin

First iPad in a Zeppelin award goes to Michael Cierpka of Zeppelin...

How do we see it fitting into our daily routine? Among other things, it would be handy to keep electronic versions of the stacks of manuals on devices like the iPad.

Olé

I'm told this is a bull fighting arena.

Just north of the border, a few miles from Brown Field.

Hovercraft Base

Passing a hovercraft base. Go Navy!

San Diego here we come!

We've departed Long Beach on schedule for a full day of flights over San Diego.

Thanks to coverage by the local press, we've already sold out the originally scheduled flights and have added some more. This will be our first full day of passenger operations over San Diego since we covered the Farmers Insurance open at Torrey Pines.

We're looking forward to once again seeing the tall masted sailing ships and naval ships in the harbor, the majestic Hotel Coronado and the submarines at Point Loma.

To book one of the additional flights today, or our next return to San Diego May 28, call our Reservations Specialists at 650-969-8100 x111.
